Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling)

Die Here is my krag en my beskerming. Dit is Hy wat my gered het!

Psalm 118:14

Lukas 9:20

Psalm 118 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

13 My vyande wou my platloop en my ondergang bewerk, maar die Here het my gehelp.
14 Die Here is my krag en my beskerming.
16 die Here triomfeer, die Here doen kragtige dade!"

Lukas 9 (Bybel in Afrikaans (1983-vertaling))

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

Psalm 118:14

Luke 9:20

Psalm 118 (English Standard Version)

11 They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;
in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
12 They surrounded me like bees;
they went out like a fire among thorns;
in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
13 I was pushed hard, so that I was falling,
but the Lord helped me.
14 The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
15 Glad songs of salvation
are in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16 the right hand of the Lord exalts,
the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!”
17 I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the Lord.

Lukas 9 (English Standard Version)

17 And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
18 Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them,
“Who do the crowds say that I am?”
19 And they answered, “John the Baptist. But others say, Elijah, and others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.”
20 Then he said to them,
“But who do you say that I am?”
And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
21 And he strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one,
22 saying,
“The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”
23 And he said to all,
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
